Core team

Our main team consists of employees, interns and extremely dedicated volunteers. They take care of the overall project management, partnerships, teaching methods, communications and social media and other important tasks to keep our program running.

Ali Raza Ashraf

Head of Education

Ali first joined MigraCode as a student in 2020.

Simon Luque

Program Assistant

Simón graduated from our Web Development course in 2021. He is currently in charge of our self-learning programs at MigraCode. He keeps contact with our students, monitors their progress, gives them technical assistance, and also helps with the management of our Web Development program. Originally a health care professional, he has been tracending to tech over the last few years, and now pursuing a course in Data Science. He is passionate about technology, but also about coffee, and sports.

Isar

Volunteer Education Assistant

Isar is spending a year on the MigraCode team whilst he continues his coding studies. He uses his experience as a full stack developer to support students and graduates with their technical and employability skills. As an education assistant, his tasks include improving the syllabus, assisting instructors during classes, managing devices, pairing up volunteers with students and assisting the Head of Education with his tasks. Computer science graduate, he holds an Associate’s degree with a minor in professional insertion and a Bachelor’s degree with a minor in web technologies. He has volunteering experiences in different sectors (childcare, food distribution, clothing distribution). He sees programming as a tool to improve society and better the lives of the people learning it.

Vincent van Grondelle

Co-Founder

Vincent is the co-founder and previous program manager of the MigraCode Barcelona program, and through his experience with this, obtained profound knowledge of the tech sector, open education and working with refugees and migrants. With a background in social work, data analysis, nonprofit management, political science and philosophy, his focus has always been on combating structural inequities and bringing people together to make a positive social impact in society. After finishing his work at MigraCode in November 2022, he continued to volunteer with the program and work together with Open Cultural Center with his own social project.

Our Technical Volunteers

This is just a selection of a part of our instructor team – in total we have more than 80 instructors from the tech sector involved in the teaching and learning processes of our program! Through different ways they support our students during and in-between classes.

Our Employability Volunteers

While our instructors volunteer to teach coding, our employability volunteers help our students through many other ways. They help students with preparing for job interviews, improving their CV and LinkedIn, understanding the tech sector better and guiding them through their tech career.
